An Afro-Pacific fusion fashion show was held at the Raffles Tradewinds Convention Centre on Saturday 19th April 2008. The show, with Colonel Hlaliso Qomoyi (South Africa High Commision Char d'Affaires) in attendance, was held to mark South Africa's independence on April 27.

Raffles Tradewinds is located at Lami town on the outskirts of Fiji's capital city of Suva, offering waterfront accommodation and extensive conference and convention facilities.

Head to the Suva City Library any time this week for the comic arts festival, which offers workshops and entertainment for all ages - free of charge. It is part of the Bonjour Fiji programme for 2008. Hurry, this is only up to April 5th.

The Thurston Gardens is one of Fiji's first Botanical gardens opened in 1913. It is locatd just south of Albert Park in downtown Suva. The orginal village of Suva was located here before the capital was moved from Levuka. A great place to relax and get away from the hectic Suva streets.
