European hotel chain, Accor, recently took over management of another hotel in Fiji, Raffles Tradewinds Hotel & Convention Centre in the Lami Bay, and renamed it "Tradewinds Hotel & Convention Centre". The Hotel will be rebranded to Novotel Capital Suva Hotel & Convention Centre after refurbishment and upgrade of the property later this year. Accor currently operates three other hotels in Fiji – Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa on Denarau Island, Novotel Nadi (previously known as The Fiji Mocambo), and Mercure Hotel Nadi (previously known as The Dominion International Hotel).

An Afro-Pacific fusion fashion show was held at the Raffles Tradewinds Convention Centre on Saturday 19th April 2008. The show, with Colonel Hlaliso Qomoyi (South Africa High Commision Char d'Affaires) in attendance, was held to mark South Africa's independence on April 27.

Raffles Tradewinds is located at Lami town on the outskirts of Fiji's capital city of Suva, offering waterfront accommodation and extensive conference and convention facilities.
