Suva History
Suva was proclamed Fiji's first City in October 1952 and became the Capital City in 1877 when it way moved from Vevuka. This decision was made by the colonial authourities, following the occupation of the Fiji Islands by the United Kingdom in 1874. Suva has many historical sites and landmarks and there are a number of day tours and trips.
